The Audi S6 is a high-performance version of the A6 sedan. It delivers a whopping 435 horsepower at 6800 rpm via a Lamborghini-sourced 5.2-liter V10 engine. A solid 398 pound-feet of torque is achieved between 3000 and 4000 rpm.

The car’s exterior recieved a “facelift” in 2009 that focuses primarily on updates to the car’s lighting systems. The taillights have been redesigned with R8-inspired lenses, and a striking LED treatment that effectively cut through the haze of blowing snow.
The facelift also consist of a slightly redesigned front bumper, new rectangular fog lamps and larger air-intakes left and right of the grille.
Like Audi’s other “S” models, the S6 features sportier suspension, larger wheels with performance tires, and a more aggressive bodykit. A row of LED running lights under the main headlights also differentiate the S6 from the A6.
The S6 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds; its top speed is electronically governed at 155 mph. A six-speed Tiptronic automatic and Quattro all-wheel-drive come standard.
The V10′s throaty rumble at idle isn’t all show — over 90% of the torque is available from as low as 2,300 rpm. For all its aggressiveness, Audi promises the engine delivers very low-vibration and
plenty of refinement.
The transmission, steering, chassis and brakes of the S6 have been modified to reflect the engine’s power. The firmer settings of the springs, dampers and elastokinematics as well as a more direct steering ratio make the S6 feel less like an executive sedan and more like a sports car.
A self-locking center differential, installed longitudinally in the driveline, distributes power between the front and rear wheels, according to the driving situation. The normal split is 40 % to the front wheels and 60 % to the rear
The Audi S6 comes standard with 19-inch cast aluminum wheels. The standard tire spec is 265/35 R19, providing plenty of grip for spirited driving. The S6 has 4 large disc brakes measuring 15.2 inches in diameter up front and 13 inches at the rear.
